Inspection of solid waste project of NRI Colony by Nmmc Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar



Navi Mumbai  - Swachh Survekshan has classified three types of waste as wet, dry and domestically hazardous. Similarly, large organizations, societies, hotels generating more than 100 metric tonnes of waste per day in their premises Wet waste needs to be processed. According to this, Namumpa Commissioner Mr. Special attention is being paid to the cleanliness drive through Rajesh Narvekar and recently the commissioner had directed each unit to speed up the cleanliness campaign by holding a review meeting on cleanliness.

In this regard, the assistant commissioners and divisional officers of each division, as well as the nodal officers appointed by the divisions, regularly visited their respective areas for inspection and brought the irregularities in cleanliness to the notice of the concerned. And the commissioner had given instructions to resolve them immediately.

Along with this, the commissioner himself. Direct inspection of cleanliness is also being done in various departments through Rajesh Narvekar. Accordingly, the Commissioner today made a surprise visit to Seawood Estate Society in Mass Waste Generation (BWG) NRI Complex Phase 2 under the city profile of Swachh Survekshan, to inspect the waste disposal project there. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner of Solid Waste Management Department Dr. Babasaheb Rajle, Assistant Commissioner of Belapur Division and Sub-Divisional Officer Mr. Shashikant Tandel, Chief Sanitation Officer Mr. Rajendra Sonawane and other officers and employees were present.

NRI Complex is a huge society in Navi Mumbai area and here in phase 2 500 Kgs. Capacity compost peat has been prepared. The wet waste collected daily from the society is being dumped in peat and compost is being prepared from it. Average daily 400 kg. Compost generated from wet waste is used to develop gardens and greenery in the premises of the society thereby reducing waste disposal at the point of generation and saving on waste transportation cost.

The commissioner understood the whole process of making compost from wet waste here and checked the details of wet and dry waste generated daily in the society. Similarly, while talking to the residents of the society present there, he appreciated that you are doing a very good job of sorting the garbage and disposing of the garbage in the premises of the society. The commissioner appealed to the residents to maintain this continuity as cleanliness is something to be done regularly.
